My kinda sorta Hulk look

Last night I was getting ready to go out and I decided to play with my Concrete Minerals Pro matte shadows. As I was going along I figured I would snap a few pics of the process and do a sort of picture tutorial, it wasn't until after that I realized the colors I chose were 'Hulkish". Hulkish or not, I really liked the look and I hope you do too. :)

I didn't take a pic of this, but I primed my eye with GDE Control Freak primer and then covered my whole eye with Tick:Tock's Infinity base in Milky Way

Pat on Concrete Minerals' Pro Matte shadow in Toxic all over the lid

Then take BFTE's shadow in Black on the outer lid and up into crease blending with Toxic

The add CM's Pro Matte shadow in Ravage and blend that into the crease with Black and also blend it into the outer corner and somewhat into Toxic. Then add Tako by Sugarpill as the highlight color.

Fill in your brows and line your eyes

Here is the finished product eyes closed and after adding mascara

Jeepers, I need foundation! lol

Full face, lips are MAC lipstick in Style Curve

VOILA!
I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial and I think that I will do some more in the future!

Almond Eye

The lovely Cora over at Vintage or Tacky put up a new video the other day doing an 'Almond Eye'. I loved the look and decided to give it a whirl I and think I did pretty okay! I decided to be a bit more dramatic with mine by filling in my waterline and using more extreme blush and lip color. I will of course list everything used at the bottom after the pics. (yes, I am wearing a top in the pics, it just doesn't look like it. lol)

SPARKLES!!!

I look so angry!

I hope you like the look, it was pretty simple to do and is dramatic, but not so dramatic it isn't wearable. I love that kind of look, quick, easy and wearable.

Products used:
Primer: Concrete Minerals Electric eye primer
Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Perversion over the whole eye
Sugarpill eyeshadow in Bulletproof to set Perversion
Sugarpill eyeshadow in Stella for some sparkle action
Maybelline Colossal lash mascara in Black
Brows: Sugarpill Bulletproof eyeshadow
Blush: Sugapill eyeshadow in Love+
Lips: a random clear gloss mixed with some Love+ by Sugarpill

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Labor Day weekend and until next time:

Virus Insanity first impression

I order a few samples from Virus Insanity awhile back and this is what I have for you today. I ordered 6 samples that came in little clam shells along with some business cards. The TAT (turn around time) was 10 days which is usually a bit longer than I am used to, but once they shipped I got the goods in a timely fashion. Everything came wrapped together nicely and in a bubble mailer. Full size regular shadows are $5.00 a piece while the duo chrome shadows are $6.50 for full size jars. Duo chrome samples are $2.50 and the regular shadow samples are $2.00. The colors I got all swatched really well and seemed to be very smooth, I think they will be easy to work with. Overall, I think I will more than likely be ordering from V.I again in the future.

Everything wrapped up fresh out of the mailer

The shadows and business cards.

L-R Just Peachy, XTC, Lime Sorbet, Dance Dance, Jasper and Sticky Caramel (no flash)

Colors same as above, just with flash

*Swatches down over Concrete Minerals Electric eye primer

Color descriptions off of site:
Just Peachy: a peachy orange
XTC: a pinkish purple with tons of rainbow iridescent glitter and silver rainbow hologram glitter.
Lime Sorbet: a light shimmery cool toned green.
Dance Dance: a golden yellow with tons of rainbow iridescent glitter and silver rainbow hologram glitter.
Jasper: a golden, brownish yellow
Sticky Caramel: a deep golden brown

Of the bunch, I think Jasper, Just Peachy and Lime Sorbet are my favs though I liked them all. Have you tried Virus Insanity before? If so, what colors should I try next?

I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and as always:

MOI haul!

I know that I have not posted in a few weeks and for that I am sorry, but I have been on a bit of a budget, under the weather and the post man has been taking AGES to get my Moi packages to me. I also have not been doing much in the way of makeup lately outside of foundation, mascara and blush so there have not at least been any LOTDs to post. :( I am feeling much better though and things are settling down a bit so I think I can get back to a more normal posting routine. :) Now that that is said, I will get into what was inside my package I received yesterday. I got the Blackout collection along with sample jars of the Dead Zone collection that came for free with any order over $20 I think it was during the site launch sale. I also received a jar of Beach Bum which is one of the ever amazing Sparklers shadows. I didn't get to swatch the colors over different colored bases like I wanted to since my room is a bit of a disaster area as I am currently reorganizing all my makeup and can barely find anything right now. lol. I will try and do so though when I find my black and white bases and add them to the swatches album on my FB page. I think you guys are probably tired of my rambling now, so I will hop onto my swatch pics. ;)

Everything in their little baggies along with my Holly note. :)

The Blackout Collection with flash L-R Shiner, Night Shift, Tattle, Goldmine, Babylon, Faraway

The Blackout Collection no flash L-R Shiner, Night Shift, Tattle, Goldmine, Babylon, Faraway

The Dead Zone colors are GORGEOUS and my swatches do not do them justice what so ever, they are so sparkly and all around fantastical, they seriously made me swoon. The Blackout collection are all black based colors with gorgeous sparkles, they are gorgeous on their own and would take on a whole new level of wonderfulness when used over a black base. Once again Holly has me reminded of why I love her company as much as I do and I highly suggest you hop on over once the site is reopened and snag these ASAP. You won't regret it.

* I didn't link the Moi shop in this post because their site is down while Holly undergoes surgery and heals.

I hope you all are having a lovely week so far and as always:

Tick:Tock Cosmetics swatches and first impression

I received my first package from Tick: Tock Cosmetics yesterday night and just had to share with you guys what I got! I have been on the hunt for a matte white and matte black eye shadow base comparable to the NYX pencils in Milk and Black Bean for some time now so finding Tick:Tock's Infinity bases got me excited. Why don't I just buy the NYX pencils you ask? The answer, parabens. I haven't been able to test the wear on these yet, but wanted to give my first impression of them for you guys. I got both the white and black bases that go by the name of Milky Way and Black Hole, they both go for $4 a piece and come in 5 gram jars. Milky Way is very creamy and applies more opaque and smooth than Black Hole does. I had to really work my finger in Black Hole to get out enough to make a good swatch of it and it took several times to get it opaque on my arm for the shadow swatches while Milky Way went on pretty much without any effort. Once on to my liking though Black Hole was nice matte black. When I went to wash my arm off afterwards I had to really scrub my arm with a wash that had exfoliating beads in it to get the bases off, especially Milky Way, so I think they will have pretty good wear going off of that observation. I also got 6 eyeshadow samples in my order, one of which I was beyond excited about by the name of Salvador Dali who is my favorite artist of ALL time. The shadows went on pretty smoothly over the bases and are well pigmented. Samples are 70cents a piece and full size shadows are $4.95 so very reasonable. The package came with Jolly Rancher and little confetti pieces in the envelope along with my pretties. There was also a nice note written on my invoice from Tiffany and Elizabeth. Customer service was great when I had to email with a question about my order I got a quick and cheery response.

The cute and colorful note on my invoice. :)

Everything was packaged in a zip baggie with candy!

My favorites of the bunch are probably Salvador Dali, Once in a Blue Moon and Time Square. I'm really looking forward to playing around with these more and think they will be pretty easy to work with in a look. Will I buy from Tick:Tock again? Yes, I think I shall and suggest you check them out as well. :)
