Madd Style meets Dr. Who

I got a few of the Dr. Who inspired mattes from Madd Style Cosmetics yesterday and I just had to swatch and post something for you guys about them! I have only seen a few episodes of Dr. Who in my life so I am not a huge fan of the show but I appreciate it and see why it has lasted as long as it has. Anyway, I ordered 5 shadows in the 5 for $20 deal plus the Color of the week and am totally going to have to go back and get the rest I liked them so much! As with all Madd Style shadows each one in the collection is Vegan and comes in a 5 gram jar for $5. That's right only $5, it doesn't get much better than that!

How cute!

I ♥ the new jar labels!

The bottom of the jars with ingredients. The sample baggie is Time Warp (a rich black a TREMENDOUS amount of aqua glitter.)

Weeping Angel: A deep, purple-toned matte grey.

Hello Sweetie: a pressure sensitive light matte pink that rubs down into an awesome bright red/pink.

Sonic Screwdriver: a light green with a yellow base.

Hallucinogenic Lipstick: a vibrant, matte pinky-purple.

Adipose: a vibrant matte white.

Giggle Berry: a light pink with a satin finish.

L-R Time Warp, Weeping Angel, Hello Sweetie rubbed out and just patted on, Sonic Screwdriver, Hallucinogenic Lipstick, Adipose and Giggle Berry

T-B Giggle Berry, Adipose, Hallucinogenic Lipstick, Sonic Screwdriver, Hello Sweetie rubbed out and patted on, Weeping Angel and Time Warp

I decided to play and test them out and this is what I did using Adipose, Hello Sweetie and Hallucinogenic Lipstick

When doing the above eye look the colors seemed to blend well and I didn't have a ton of fallout. They are very pigmented also. I am totally in love with the colors I used and will be using them a ton in the future and can not wait to test drive the others I got! Definitely check out Madd Style if you get a chance, Mo the owner is a doll and you won't be disappointed.

MOI Minerals Metal Mania gloss collection

I received my Metal Mania gloss set from MOI Minerals the other day and decided to do a little post about them! There are 4 colors in the set and each one is quite lovely, though I will say that Red Wine was my least favorite of the bunch as it is kinda watery and not too easy to use. I am not sure if it got funny in the mail due to the heat or if it is just like that or if I just got a dud, gorgeous color but not really usable. :( The other ones went on pretty smoothly and are very layer-able and pretty, my favorite being Bronze at the moment. Overall, it is a good set to have and I believe they are even available for individual purchase.

Gold, this is about 2 coats of gloss

Silver, this is about 2 coats of gloss

Bronze, this is about 2 coats of gloss

Red Wine, about 2 coats of gloss and as you can see it is very streaky. :/

I really like these glosses so far and they seem to wear well though I haven't really had a chance to really test them yet and I like how they are build able and not sticky. I am still trying to get the hang of lip swatches and am saving up for a better camera so I can get better swatch pics, can't wait for that! Any camera suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Happy Thursday lovelies ♥

MOI Minerals Men of the big screen collection!

I got home last night after sitting in traffic for well over an hour in the rain trying to get home after work, needless to say I was kinda disgruntled when by the time I got home. All that aggravation went straight out the window when I saw that I had MOI mail! I had been really excited about this collection because I love movies and the men that star in them. The collection consists of 4 eye shadows named after different movie hunks, Johnny Depp, Jason Statham, Nicolas Cage and Timothy Olyphant. Of those 4, Johnny Depp and Jason Statham make me girl giggle. lol. All the colors swatched well, Statham being the least smooth but not a pain in the bum to do by any means, just not as smooth as the others. Holly did a great job with this collection and I am so glad to be able to add it to my ever growing MOI collection. :)

Everything came in a little mesh bag with of course a note from Holly on the invoice.

Bottom of the jars clearly labeled with shade name and ingredients

Statham in the lid

Olyphant in the lid (I'm a sucker for teals)

Depp in the lid. My favorite color for one of my favorite actors ♥

Cage in the lid

Top to Bottom: Cage, Depp, Olyphant and Statham (no flash)

Same order but with flash

It is really hard to narrow down any favs of the bunch since I love them all, I will say though that I am very excited to use Olyphant and Depp. The MOI shop is closed right now while Holly recuperates from surgery, but I will be sure to post on my FB page when it is back up. MOI makes some of my favorite products and Holly is an absolute doll, you should definitely check them out if you have not already!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

MOI Minerals haul

I got my shadows from my grab bag purchase the other day and was really excited over the colors that were included in my bag since I didn't have any of them except Mercy, but that color is so gorgeous I don't mind having two. lol I also got another package of the Metal Mania lip glosses, but those will be in another post. I mention them since they are in one of the pics I took. I got a nice range of colors and some that I had been eying but never got before they were discontinued, so win on that! As always there was a sweet note from the lovely Holly and the shadows were packaged nicely in a bubble mailer. If you haven't checked out MOI, you really should. Customer service is great, the products are great and reasonably priced. Shipping can take a bit but that is expected when shipping from Canada to the US, it is always worth the wait though. Each color swatched wonderfully and was pigmented and opaque with very few swipes of my brush. I am yet again very satisfied with a MOI purchase. :)

L-R Cactus, Shimmers and Pearls, Maria,Halo, Pink Pearls, Rockstar Red (with flash)

L-R Rockstar Red, Destiny, Ol School, Dig it, Risque, Monster Mash (with flash)

Love these colors and think that Holly did a great job at choosing which colors to put in my grab bag. I used Pink Pearls and Shimmers and Pearls for a quick look for work yesterday and they were incredibly easy to work with. Love them all!! Stay tuned for my post of the Metal Mania glosses once I get them swatched.

BFTE Fall collection swatches!

One of my favorite indie companies BFTE came out with their Fall Collection and boy is it gorgeous! The colors swatched like butter and seriously had me drooling while doing them. The set consists of 4 full size shadow for $20 and shipping is a flat rate $4. There were only 100 made and the last count I saw said there were about 40 left, so hop on over and snatch yours up ASAP,you won't be disappointed.

The cute little box the shadows came in, they also came with a bag of Teddy Grahams but the honey are my fav and I ate them before taking pics. lol

I love the new lids they decided to go with a few months ago.

Each shadow clearly labeled with the ingredients

L-R Sassafras, Silver Maple, Sweet Gum and Sycamore

Sassafras and Sweet Gum are my favs, but they are all BEYOND gorgeous!

These were so easy to swatch, one swipe and they were perfectly opaque.

If you love beautiful fall colors, fantastic customer service and colors that blend like butter, then you should definitely get this set.

Hope you all have a lovely Wednesday and until next time:

LOVE + vs @#$%!

I have a mild obsession with Sugarpill and red eye shadows and so of course I had to get my hands on @#$%! which is a limited edition shadow. When I got it at first I thought it was a dead on dupe for Love+ but after really comparing I have come to see the differences in the shades. They are similar I will not lie, but different enough to me to not feel like I bought the same color with just silver sparkles added to it. lol

Left to right: @#$%! is the top and Love+ is the bottom, no base. Love+ with no base and then over primer. @#$%! no base and then over primer (no flash)

With flash
As you can see, while similar Love+ is a bit darker and not as pink toned as @#$%! with a kinda gold shimmer to it while @#$%! has the silver glitter. Both are very pigmented and apply pretty opaquely without primer and are even more awesome over primer. They are both very smooth and swatched easily. I see myself putting @#$%! to work pretty often and am thinking of doing a look using both soon. I hope you found this comparison helpful.

I meant to post this sooner but I got side tracked over the weekend, but better late than never right? Madd Style Cosmetics Stardust collection

The other day I got the Stardust collection by Madd Style Cosmetics in the mail and almost fell over from the awesomeness when I swatched them! Gorgeous, gorgeous shadows that blend like magical butter, I am in love. The collection is black based shadows with color changing glittery goodness. I found it really hard to capture their greatness in my swatch pics and assure you this collection is worth getting!
